Things to Do

Day 1:

Arrive to the hotel and be greeted on arrival by our friendly team. Once you’ve checked in and dropped your luggage why not enjoy a quick bite out in our courtyard? With extensive outdoor seating, it’s ideal for soaking up the sunshine! If you have the time for an evening stroll, we recommend checking out the leafy campus walks around the University of Limerick. You’ll see the tall flagpoles right across the road from the hotel entrance. We’d advise allowing about an hour to an hour and a half to explore. On your return, enjoy a delicious family meal in the Brasserie.

Day 2:

After your breakfast in McLaughlin’s Restaurant, it’s time to set off to explore everything Limerick has to offer! Our favourite recommendation for families in Limerick is King John’s Castle in the medieval quarter of the city. Explore the newly renovated interactive experience and learn of Limerick’s turbulent past. Once you get the top, take in some of the best views of Limerick city and the surrounding countryside as well as the Shannon below you. Limerick city is about a ten-minute drive away from the hotel and we’d allow for about an hour and a half to two hours to explore the castle. When you come back, take a dip in our swimming pool! Kids are welcome up until 7pm and we recommend ringing ahead to ensure we have availability.

Day 3:

Why not venture slightly further afield and visit Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, less than thirty minutes from the hotel. Learn about the fascinating past of the castle which dates back to the 15^th century. The folk park is a treasure trove of family fun too with Irish wolfhounds and pet farm, cosy tea rooms, fairy trail and Viking playground, perfect for keeping your little ones entertained all afternoon!
