Shane Tracy Leisure Club Manager
Hello everyone! I was appointed Club manager in September 2016 after being promoted from within the club. I originally started working in the Leisure Club in February 2014. I first arrived as a Personal Trainer in the club where I helped members achieve fitness goals they had on joining the club. I designed specific programmes for each individual tailored to help them meet the exact goals they wanted to achieve. I would also deliver classes from our timetable on a weekly basis.
I graduated from I.T. Carlow in 2011 with B.A. in Sports and Business Management and I am also a qualified Personal Trainer and Strength and Conditioning coach. Fitness and Sport has always been a part of my life. At the age of 15 I got offered a contact with Arsenal Football club. I signed a 3 year contract with them where I gained valuable experience. At the age of 18 I moved back home and signed for League of Ireland club Galway United. The following season I signed for Limerick FC and I am now about to embark on my 10th season. Since joining the club I have won 2 First Division titles.
For any queries please do not hesitate to contact me and I will help you in any way I can.
Grace Lynch Leisure Club Supervisor
Hi, my name is Grace Lynch. I graduated from the University of Limerick in August 2016 with a First Class honors degree in BSc Sport and Exercise Science. I have been working in the Castletroy Park Hotel since September 2015, where I currently hold the position of Supervisor of the Fitness club. I have always had a huge interest in sport, with a keen interest in high performance and injury prevention and I utilise my knowledge to aid members in achieving their fitness goals through the implementation of specific programs and teaching a variety of fitness classes including Kettlebells, Tabata and aqua.
Athletics is a huge part of my life. I was introduced to the sport at the age of 6 and began to train competitively on my arrival to University. I have competed for my club Iveragh A.C and my university in both cross country and track and field. In the past 2 years I made a breakthrough, competing for Ireland at national and international level. I train full time in Limerick, with my training group and two fantastic coaches. This year is my first year competing at senior level and I hope to continue to improve over the next few years and continue to compete at national and international level. If you have any questions, I am always happy to help.
Keith Mc Manus Leisure Club Personal Trainer
Hey my name is Keith. I graduated from the University of Limerick in 2014 with a B.Sc in Exercise and Health Fitness. I specialised in personal training, accompanied with strength and conditioning. I love every kind, and also every aspect of sport. This has kept me keen and motivated in my work, especially when it comes to making programs for teams or individuals alike. For the past two seasons I have been the strength and conditioning coach to a very dedicated and successful UL Bohemians Ladies team - who also play home to a number of Irish international players. I have a very strong passion for helping people in any way I can, and the best way for me to do that is through fitness and keeping people positive. ANY goal is achievable by maintaining a positive mindset and simply working hard! On a personal note, I have represented Munster in under 17's, 19's and 20's. I joined UL Bohemians RFC after I left school in 2010 and was part of their academy system. I went on to captain the under 21's and win both domestic trophies. I have been part of the Bohs senior team for the past 5 seasons - in which I've had some unforgettable experiences, namely, winning the Ulster Bank Irish league 1B alongside some current and former Irish and Munster greats. As I'm only new to the CPH family I'm looking forward to getting to know ye all. On a final note at least I'm not another Shane!
Shane Duggan Leisure Club Personal Trainer
Hi there. My name is Shane Duggan. From a very young age I was sports mad, I played various different sports including soccer, rugby, hurling and Gaelic football. I loved being active. Soccer was always my preference and when I was 16 I got the opportunity to sign a contract with Plymouth Argyle in the UK. It was a great experience to train everyday as a full time professional and it was there where I took a real interest in health and fitness. At 18 I returned to Ireland and signed for Cork City where I spent 5 seasons. In 2013 I completed an Itec Fitness Instructor course and on completion of the course I starting working as a personal trainer in Dennehy’s Health and Fitness. I spent 12 months working there until I signed for Limerick FC in 2014. I have spent the past 3 seasons with the club and captained them to the First Division title. I won overall First Division Player of The Year for the season also.
As you can see I have been involved in sport and fitness for a great number of years and from this I have gained valuable experience. I look forward to helping you achieve any goals and targets you may have.
Niamh Duggan Leisure Club Personal Trainer
Hi everyone! I'm Niamh (The Blonde One)! I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies in LIT & went on to UL to complete 1 year in Exercise Health & Fitness with NCEF. The year I spent at UL was my best year at college because I had a massive interest in everything I was learning.
I am surrounded by an experienced group of athletic trainers who I am constantly learning from! Although I am not someone who grew up in sports, my love & passion for fitness comes from a very personal place.
My fitness journey began just by attending a few classes here and there around Limerick. I became addicted. The energy and adrenaline from a solid 1-hour workout was something I looked forward to every day. It wasn't only physical, it was therapeutic for me also! I knew it was something I wanted to be able to provide for people too! I appreciate the struggle of weight loss and the effect it can have mentally so when I see people pushing themselves it gives me a huge sense of happiness that they're getting closer and closer to their goals.
I welcome anyone that needs help on their fitness journey, whatever the goals are. No judgement.
Iain Hurton Leisure Club Personal Trainer
Hi, my name is Iain, the youngest one of them all! I got into fitness myself because weight was something I struggled with when I was growing up. My father brought me to a boot camp when I was 16 – this is when my addiction to exercise started. When I finished my first boot camp I recognised how unfit I was and wanted to change for the better as the life I was living was not getting me closer to where I wanted to be. I knew I want to be a fitness instructor.
I completed my first course in Fitness & Health with CCL in Limerick & my second year with LCFE. I also went on to complete courses in Aqua Aerobics & Spinning. The fitness industry is always changing & it is important to stay on top of it. Aqua Aerobics is my speciality (ask the ladies I’m a killer) – I love dancing from line dancing to break dancing. I love making people happy while motivating them at the same time.
I love my job here in the leisure club & I love the people I work with as they have the same goals & mindset as myself which is crucial when working in this industry.
